Another review~

September 21, 2011 by Raine Miller Leave a Comment

My second review, courtesy of Brenda Talley at  The Romance Studio gave His Perfect Passion 4 1/2 hearts out of 5.  Here is part of her review:

Ms. Raine Miller has presented us with a unique tale of long-lasting love and the feelings of inadequacy felt by the insecure Marianne. Her characters are well written and interesting. Her supporting cast was also likeable and helped to get the story across to readers. The majority of the book was the interactions between the main couple.

This book was graphic. The sexual encounters were scorching. I don’t believe this would be a good read for the faint hearted. The wording was quite visual and sexual scenes were frequent. This quick-read was a page turner. The ending was surprising. Miller has, once again, written a big hit. Congratulations, Ms. Miller!

My first review~

July 19, 2011 by Raine Miller Leave a Comment

Stephanie Rollins over at Book Review R Us.com gave me my first one.  This is what she had to say…

Darius wants Marianne.  He always has.  Now, she is of marrying age.  Her father is facing debtor’s prison.  If Marianne refuses him, he will bribe her with her father’s freedom.  Will it come down to that?

Marianne does not feel worthy to marry Darius, who happens to be rich.  She has a deep, dark secret that haunts her.

Darius likes to dominate.  Marianne is a virgin, but she has fantasies of being submissive.  It seems like a perfect match.

This is a great erotic book.  The innocence ready to be lost, the submissive nature ready to give in, and the longing create for such a tantalizing read.  The characters are perfectly developed, and the plot is well-defined.  This is a book to read and recommend to friends.

I am thrilled to get 5 stars for my first.  It really made my day and pulled a smile out of me.  Raine~

They made me a banner~

May 20, 2011 by Raine Miller Leave a Comment

Now, isn’t that pretty?  My book released yesterday and I must say the excitement of first sales is pretty heady.  The nice folks at Bookstrand give you a sales tracker that lets you know how many books you sell every hour.  For new authors here is a tip… “you check it a lot.”   *smiling wink*

Upon opening my email this morning I was thrilled to see the banner that was created for my first book.  I love that the blue shawl got added to this one.  It’s definitely part of the story and it pleases me to know that whoever made the banner actually read the cover questionnaire I filled out way back in February.  I’m telling you, Siren-Bookstrand has done me good and I couldn’t be happier with my first publishing experience.

Excitement is good and motivating to most people, BUT like most things, needs tempering.  You’ve all heard the saying~ Too much of good thing…

So, it’s pretty simple really…if I can just restrain myself from returning to my Sales Report, oh, every 10 minutes or so, I might actually get my word count in for the book I’m writing now.

My cover! Come to Momma~

May 5, 2011 by Raine Miller 11 Comments

The long awaited cover has finally arrived. And I feel like a new mommy recovering from the birth. Kind of appropriate with Mother’s Day just around the corner. *wink*

Not to take anything away from mothers and the life-altering experience of actually giving birth, I can now say I have endured both, and while difficult and emotional at times, the rewards of holding the prize in your arms is incomparable.

Let me just say that I love my cover. *I love my babies too*

The final product incorporates my vision for His Perfect Passion, well…perfectly. I love the way Darius is holding Marianne and the expression on his face. There is no doubt about what he feels for her. Marianne’s face is hidden, and that fits too because she is hiding a secret which compels her actions throughout their story. I’m glad the mansion along the coast is in there because the sea is critical to the plot of His Perfect Passion.

Now, the journey to getting to this point was not without its bumps, but I’ll share that story another time.  Let’s just say that the first version didn’t quite mesh with my vision.  *takes a deep breath*

I hope you enjoy my very first romance cover as much as I am.  And if you’re wondering and don’t already know, yes, that’s Jimmy Thomas.  *blows kiss to Jimmy*
